What baby food should I buy for my baby?

When my baby was nearing 6 month old, even I too had many questions like - What food to give, when is the best for start, what time should I give solids, how many times should we feed, homemade is best or ready made cerelacs are better… list goes on, and its normal to have so many questions, when we want to choose the best for our kids in every aspect :)… I started giving semi-solids, when baby is 6 months old along with continued mothers milk. For babies home made food is considered to be best, initially I started with home made ragi and rice porridge made with little ghee, smashed banana and curd with no sugar or salt as suggested by doctor. Later many of my friends suggested with fortified cereals as it would be convenient for working mothers and also on travelling it would be difficult to get access to home cook food. when I consulted my pediatrician on our next visit, She recommended pristine’s 1st bites with no added sugar. I have tried 1st bites all flavors and my baby eats without being fussy. Even now I use it as one time meal/snack and rest of the time fresh home made foods. When it comes to taste, I would suggest you, not to compare 1st bites with other baby food products - which are manufactured to make it addictive for babies with lot of sugar contents in it (which may lead diabetes problems on later stage). I personally preferred baby food made with organic ingredients over other available products in the market.
